If you have recently attempted to get a line of credit, your name becomes available to Direct Mailers who will solicit many credit and loan offers to you in the mail. You can submit your name and address to the company that monitors all opt out requests for the credit bureaus.

The only reason you may receive credit offers after opting out is if you have an existing relationship with a credit company, such as a loan from a car dealer or a credit card you may have. Those companies can solicit you legally, but the others cannot. You will need to contact the companies directly to be removed from their list. |
